My sister is my hero and truly the strongest woman that I know. She is five years older than me and lives her life in a truly wonderful way. Tammy has a kind loving heart and has always been there for me no matter what. My sister gets up and goes to work each day, regardless of how she feels. I love her and respect her very much.
The blocks on this page have all been donated by women all over the world. There are enough blocks to actually make several quilts. One quilt will be given to my sister and the other to an unamed recipient that I have met online and has A.L.S. These two women are just amazing to me. They face their lives head on and live each day to the fullest.
As quilters we belong to such a wonderful community. So many women have responded to me through email and have shared their own personal stories of loss or hardship. I found it wonderfully amazing that each would make room in their own busy lives and take the time to make a block for my sister. In life we are all connected and blessed through a common thread called empathy and compassion.

This page is a chronicle of the blocks as they arrived in the daily mail and the process of assembling the quilt top for Tammy.
