I wanted to share with you another stunning finish! The quilt pictured below was blogged about in an earlier post called Self Portrait. Quilting like Art is something that you can put your heart and soul into.
This quilt is reflective of the chaos in my past as a young woman and the ebbs and tides that life brings. Life sometimes can be filled with events that are not pleasant or perfect. There have been times in my own life where I have felt afraid, confused or experienced loss so deeply that it hit the core of my soul. In my heart I believe that as painful or chaotic that life can get at times, that there is a lesson to be learned, or something positive to be gained from the pain. This quilt is symbolic for the twists and turns in life and the challenges experienced along the way. Each section of the quilt is representative of the intricate imbalances that life can bring. Each event different in its own unique way, but part of a larger scheme in life.
I wanted to thank Angela Walters for quilting this quilt for me. It is so beautiful and the close up pictures to follow really do not do it justice. The binding on the quilt will be a solid green in a muted shade. The green will compliment the overall design and not over power it.
This quilt will hang in my new apartment when we relocate. It will be a symbol of perseverance and a chance for new beginnings. Quilting and Artistic expression have always been my lifeline. Creating has always has brought a sense of peace and tranquility to my soul.
As the new year approaches I am so grateful for the friends that I have made here and will miss them when we have moved. The ladies that I have met during our stay in Pennsylvania helped me learn so many things. Hopefully as time passes we will keep in touch with each other and remain friends. Thank you for helping me grow as a Quilter and become my friends. Words can not express everything I feel or how much I value having been able to get to know you.
2013 is just around the bend. A new year of Quilting and creating lies ahead! The New Year will bring new challenges and new adventures. Do you have any new goals planned for the upcoming year? 2012 for me has been bittersweet and I am ready for a New Year to begin! There are a multitude of UFO's to tackle and a new landscape of Quilt Shops to discover! As I end this post I wanted to thank you for visiting my blog and following my adventures!! Have a Happy Wednesday and Happy Quilting!
