Bloggy Giveaway! Sonoma Rose by Jennifer Chiaverini

Happy Sunday! I hope that your weekend is nothing short of fabulous! I was saddened to hear about the passing of the greatly talented Whitney Houston at age 48, yesterday. She was truly an icon and extremely talented performer. I remember watching her and Kevin Costner in the movie "The Bodyguard" many, many times. Her tremendous singing voice will truly be missed.
Yesterday was a sewing day. My son and I took the long drive to drop off my sewing machine for service and the shop was closed when we got there! What a disappointment! We will have to try again next Saturday. I finished a quilt top that is a gift for a friend and cut into some yummy solids for a swap on flickr. The completed quilt removes one UFO from my list! Today I will be working on blocks for Bees and Swaps.
A special thank you to the Penguin Group and Superior Threads for some of the items included in today's giveaway! As you know I love the books by Jennifer Chiaverini! On February 21st her latest novel, "Sonoma Rose" will be available for sale! One lucky winner in this giveaway will receive one copy of her soon to be released novel and some other great gifts!
The 1920's evokes indelible cultural motifs-the Jazz Age, Modernism, Prohibition-inspired heralded literature-from the interwar dillusionment explored in the "Great Gatsby" or the "The Sun Also Rises" to the strong women portrayed in "Alice Adams" or "Main Street." In recently published fiction this time period has rarely been explored.
Jennifer Chiaverini, author of the best selling Elm Creek Quilt Series, is  one of the few writers working today to demonstrate equal mastery of contemporary and historical fiction. In 2011, she published two New York Times bestselling novels-"The Union Quilters" a Civi-War-Era chronicle of life behind the Northern lines and "The Wedding Quilt," a 21st century celebration of one of America's most enduring and romantic traditions. In Sonoma Rose, Chiaverini turns her imaginative powers to the story of how one woman's courage and vision to begin a winery brought true change for her family and herself. The setting for this book is in Sonoma County, California during the era of Prohibition.
One lucky winner will receive:
One Copy of Sonoma Rose!
One Vicksburg Civil War Charm pack from my stash by Marcus Fabrics and one spool of King Tut #50 weight thread from Superior Threads in gorgeous variegated olive greens!
Entering this giveaway is easy peasy! You have a chance for four possible entries by leaving comments on this blog post:
1. Be a follower of my blog or become a new follower!
2. Blog, tweet, or facebook about this giveaway!
3. Leave a comment about what your favorite type of fabric is!
4. Leave a comment if you have read any of Jennifer's novels!
THIS GIVEAWAY WILL END FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2011 AT MIDNIGHT EASTERN STANDARD TIME!
THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!!
Have a very Happy Sunday and Happy Quilting!

Favorite fabric!?!...how can I have a favorite...they are all beautiful and it depends on what day of the week it is...or what side of the bed I get up on...or what came in at my LQS yesterday...

But I must say I gravitate toward Thimbleberries...a lot...like the warm colors.
