As many of you know from my post in November, I love Quiltmaker Magazine! Some of you even received a copy of Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks as a gift from me! After I wrote my post I was honored to meet Diane from Quiltmaker via email. Diane is the Interactive Editor for Quiltmaker. She had contacted me for permission to use a quotes from that post in their newsletter. Several months ago, Diane was invited to become a Guest Blogger on Leona's Quilting Adventure! She graciously accepted! I hope that you will enjoy her post and enter her giveaway as we celebrate reaching a milestone of more than 400 followers!!
Thank you, Leona, for this opportunity to guest blog on behalf of Quiltmaker. I really enjoy Leona's Quilting Adventure! It inspires me regularly.

#1: We've recently launched the QM Scrap Squad, a group of eight enthusiastic QM readers who take one pattern from each issue and create their own scrappy versions of the quilt.

This is Dionne's version of Rhapsody in Bloom by Doug Leko from the March/April issue of Quiltmaker.

This is Carol's version of the same quilt. Isn't that border great?! Altogether there are eight versions for your enjoyment. So much fun!
The Scrap Squad's projects are shown online when each issue comes out, to inspire you toward new possibilities. These gals are dynamite and have just finished up their second project. Those quilts will debut online in about two weeks over at Quilters Club of America/QM Scrap Squad. I hope you'll have a look. (Nothing to join or pay for!)

#2: We blog at Quilty Pleasures and I'd love for you to come visit! We feature free patterns, ideas and inspiration and great how-to posts like this one on Understanding Stitch Length and this one on A Quick Quilt Label Method. We have lots of giveaways. There is never a dull moment!

You may have heard all the buzz about Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks from Today's Top Designers. We started publishing 100 Blocks in 2009 with Volume 1; 2010 brought Volume 2. This year we'll do Volumes 3 and 4.

Egg Plant by Susan Geddes
We invited a variety of designers to submit blocks and we've been WOW-ed by the response.

Ice Crystal by Eileen Fowler
There are so many fun, interesting and creative block designs! One reader is making all 100 blocks from Volume 2 and is blogging about it at teaquilts.com. It's so much fun to watch her progress!
Love Apple by Jo Morton
ach time a new volume comes out, we host a one-week blog tour featuring the issue's designers. There are lots and lots of giveaways on all the blogs and it's great fun! The next 100 Blocks Blog Tour is May 2–6. I hope you'll join us. Volume 3 will hit newsstands and quilt shops by May 10. If you can't find it locally, please visit our shop site: quiltandsewshop.com.

Night Owl by Marjorie Rhine
The competition to be published in 100 Blocks has greatly increased. Currently we take designs by invitation only. The designers in Volumes 1–3 are a mix of widely recognized names and newcomers to the industry and a lot of people in between. You can't imagine how much fun it is in our offices when blocks start pouring in for a new volume.
Hummingbird Haven by Cathy Van Bruggen
I hope you'll grab a digital download of Volume 1 or Volume 2. Limited hard copies of Volume 2 are still available, too. And I promise you that Volume 3, due out May 10, maintains this title's reputation and even boosts it to new heights.
QM staff: Ian, Diane, Carolyn, Mellisa, June, Denise and Eileen. Paula has joined us since this photo was taken.
It would be hard to find a group anywhere who is more enthused about quiltmaking than the staff at Quiltmaker. We love our jobs and we think it shows in our publications. I hope you'll take a peek at QM soon. For the Bloggy Giveaway, we'll give away three copies of Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Volume 2! Thanks in advance for checking us out!
